Bula! Welcome to Fiji, where happiness finds you!

In the heart of the South Pacific and comprising of 333 tropical islands, Fiji is home to many things- exquisite white sandy beaches on the islands of the Mamanucas and Yasawas, undersea marvels in the Kadavu group, lush interior rainforests of Taveuni and regions filled with hidden treasures and adventures. From beautiful rivers and waterfalls, soaring mountains and limestone caves, to authentic cuisine and fascinating cultural experiences like fire dancing, arts and crafts and kava ceremonies.

Community is the heartbeat of Fiji, where people greet you with a warm Bula smile and gracious hospitality to make you feel at home. It’s true that Fiji’s people are some of the happiest on Earth, which we put down to our communal attitude. Our people are rarely alone and share everything, from shoes to musical instruments to a good story and a laugh or two.

Yee’s Community Initiative

At Yees, we’ve created a culture of helping others through our charitable actions and community strengthening programs. We aim to foster a positive community not just through the delicious food and beverages happily devoured by people throughout Fiji, but through our community service. Whether we’re helping to bridge the gap towards sustainable Fijian communities, empowering the next generation of students, improving health services, or quickly acting in response to relief needs, Yees are doing what they can to make a difference with meaningful acts to enrich the lives of Fijians. But don’t just take our word for it, take a look at some of the work we’ve done within the community over the past few years.

Improving health services with new ECG monitors

In an effort fill a much-needed medical equipment short supply, Yees in partnership with the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, was able to successfully deliver six donated ECG monitors to the Fiji Ministry of Health. These machines were then distributed across low-resource hospitals in Fiji.

Making wishes come true for sick kids

“Give them love, give them hope, give them a reason to smile” was the catchphrase we adopted to help fulfil the wishes of children suffering from cancer. With the support of Unilever, Yees was able to work with the Lautoka Hospital to identify the wishes of some of their young patients and make them come true! Ananaiyasa Mocei, aged 3, and Tanya Kumar, 7, both received bicycles, while Timoci Ratu, 9, was given an iPad.

Cyclone Winston Relief

Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston was one of the most intense tropical cyclones ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere. The effects across Fiji were devastating with 40,000 homes damaged and 44 people losing their lives.

Yees were quick to spring into action, spending two days distributing food hampers to the affected families in the Ba-Rakiraki area of Western Viti Levu. At the end of a two-day period, 1,000 boxes of food rations, 600 cartons of Walls Ice Cream and 50 cartons of Blue Band Margarine were delivered to the most affected people.
